Houston is one of the most culturally diverse cities I know. I have traveled a lot with La Mafia and it is difficult to find a city with so many people from all over the world living side by side in such an accepting manner.
I love to show off our new downtown. Our Main Street is a unique experience. Of course, a visit to the Hard Rock is always on the agenda.
I love the movies. The Angelika Theater is one of my favorite Houston jewels. Of course, Houston's nightlife is also on the top of my list. There is an exciting boom happening in Houston with dozens of new clubs up to par with some of the best clubs in Los Angeles & New York.
A perfect day for me of course includes a great lunch, maybe at Landry's. I'll walk off my meal either with a few hours at The Galleria or a few laps around Memorial Park. Then I'll head off to Urbana Recording Studios , our pride and joy in the Near Northside and pull an all-nighter recording new music.
I love catching concerts at the Toyota Center. For a more relaxing mood, I enjoy going downtown to Sambuca.
Our first performance at the Houston Rodeo is definitely my most memorable performance in Houston. I had been going to the Rodeo almost every year and would always dream of someday being up on the revolving stage.
I love Houston's restaurants. I practically eat out everyday. I could be a restaurant tour guide. Let's see where do I start. For Mexican, Pappasito's. For Tex-Mex, of course, Andy's in the Heights. Cajun...Ragin Cajun. Sushi...Miyako. BBQ...Goode Co....I could go on and on.
I like going to Versace and Armani in The Galleria. I also like the out of the way shops on the Westheimer curve—very eclectic clothes that I can wear on stage.
Houston's best kept secret? Miller Outdoor Theatre for great free plays and concerts. You can't beat that.
I have visited a lot of cities on our tours, and I can't say that I have found someplace I would rather live. Houston is clean, spacious and very, very friendly.
