Mark "Scrapdaddy" Bradford
Art Car Artist
Houston is an exciting, dynamic and culturally diverse town. I think the diversity is the key to it all for me. People are open to accepting art that is outside the norm, the conventional, the usual.
If someone visits from out of town, the can't miss the Art Car Museum on Heights Blvd. for sure... the Orange Show, Beer Can House, The Contemporary Arts Museum, the Midtown area, downtown at night and the new Discovery Green park!
People are most likely to fine me at work, here, at my studio in The Heights or hunting for scrap metal to make things with. Rose is my favorite recycling center... to scavenge.
Houston is not what you might expect. It is a very open place, very accepting..not like the Wild West most people think of when they think of Texas.
Cyclone Anaya is the best Mexican food in my opinion. Star Pizza. Jimmy Willson's for seafood.
I am not much of a shopper...I do like to go to Rose steel center and.A.O.C. welding supply.
Houston's best kept secret is Discovery Green park.
You have to see the Art Car Parade.
