When I first moved to Houston in the 1970's there was vibrancy to the city. It's still there! Houston is a forward thinking, progressive, architecturally-advanced and ethnically diverse city. It has a great vibe. My family always thought Houston was the "IT" city. And we still do.
Why do I love Houston? Where do I begin? Obviously a big tug for me is coming back to visit my family. But I also love attending events at The University of Houston. UH is a huge part of my life.
30 years ago as a member of The University of Houston golf team, I got to play every course in the city. They welcomed us with open arms which typifies the spirit of Houston. Memorial Park is a treasure and is one of the best municipal golf courses in the country. I am also partial to Royal Oaks, Shadow Hawk, Houston Country Club and River Oaks.
Houston’s real warmth comes from the people. It is a big city with small town hospitality.
